Music · Brazilian Zouk & Lambada

Music for dancing.
Music for learning.

The playlists I use, follow and return to for Brazilian Zouk and Lambada—curated not only for listening, but increasingly as part of how I design practice and teaching.

Curated on Spotify

Three ways into the music.

Brazilian Zouk 100 and Lambada 100 are broad curated collections. The Beginner Playlist prioritizes music that is useful when learning timing, weight transfer and foundational movement.

How I classify music

Tempo is only one part of the task.

Dance BPM

I track the pulse we actually use pedagogically. That can differ from the BPM returned by general-purpose music analysis.

Rhythm family

Tracks can be classified through the musical structures I use in teaching—for example Traditional, RnB and Contemporary families in Brazilian Zouk.

Teaching use

Beat clarity, phrase clarity, complexity, energy and the skill being practiced can all change whether a song is useful for a particular class.

For teachers

Choose the song from the learning goal.

Inside the Teaching Studio, this music catalog connects to the Session Planner. Teachers can search for tracks by dance BPM, rhythm family, learner level and teaching purpose, then attach the chosen track directly to the class plan.
